Pre-Travel Thoughts...

Let me begin by saying that I am so thrilled to be going to Guatemala again! I absolutely love the organization Students International and the opportunity we have to see and interact with the staff and people in Magdalena.  God always does incredible things amongst our group! I love living with host families and  being a part of “life” in Guatemala. An added plus for me as a teacher is to include language school as an extra component of the trip. We go for one week of language school and live with host families in Antigua. Students are given the opportunity to meet with a teacher one on one for 4 hours each day, in conversation. So beneficial in starting off the trip! We then go to Magdalena and serve on a mission trip for 2  weeks.   We live with host families and work in one of the various sites: agriculture, appropriate technology, health care, child sponsorship, social work, education, art, media, a public school, and social services.
Last night we had a sendoff meeting with parents and a bbq. Such a thrill to have everyone together! Thank you so much for your love, support and encouragement in preparing us to go. We are so grateful and God will take care of each one of us on our journey. Please continue to pray for our team and we will be in touch as we are there.
