We are so grateful for the prayers and the thoughts as we travelled, served, ministered, and prayed with so many people these last few weeks. Thisexperience is definitely difficult to sum up in just a few sentences. We all could share for hours how this trip has affected us and how God has used this time to draw us ALL closer to him. StudentsInternational has been had such a powerful impact on us an we pray that the experiences we have had, especially druing these last 2 weeks will show in our character and our demeanor as we strive to walk even closer to HIM. In our debrief time we shared stories for 3 different time intervals, when people ask us the infamous question "How was Guatemala" we all answer with "Great" or do we say God used our every encounter for Him" Will everyone whant to sit down and hear all of our stories? Please be patient with us as we try to process what has happened, thepoverty we saw, the joy we saw on people's faces despite that, each morning as we were given the opportunity to have a "quiet time" to focus on our day before it began, how we shared together, cried together, prayed together, and let God be forefront in our lives for OTHERS, not just for ourselves, but through Him and for Him. A man in the market gave me and others a bracelet that he had made with the words "I am second". It's God who is first, in everything. Goodbyes are difficult. Yesterday was a difficult day as we visited sites and heard about how God used each person, uniquely placed to work with SI staff in their worksite assigned to them. It was so great for me to see and hear how God worked amongst all of them. Included in that is each person, uniquesly placed with their particular host family. Last night we had the banquet in which we were able to see the DVD compiled by the media team ( I hope you all saw the great pictures they posted daily of each site) and had a catered dinner with the team and the team that joined us from Ripon, CA. Summer staff and all the Student International staff was there as well. Studentswere all presented with a certificate and gift as they shared about their sites. Personlly, that is a favorite time for me. I need to let you know, goodbyes are not the easiest for me and found that after having been here 8 times, the goodbyes only get harder. God is good and has been so faithful to have been such a provider and sustainer for the teams and the community here. Be in pryer for the town of Magdalena and the summer that lays ahead for the staff and the teams that get the opportunity to come!
