Language school day 2
Ready for the day! Everyone arrived this am well fed, had slept well, and smiling! Second day of language school has now begun and I hear and see lots of laughter and fun. God has blessed us richly already as a team. After classes yesterday, everyone went to their homes for lunch. Hot meals were served by the families. It rained in the afternoon but we were still aBle to visit the market, and shop for some souvenirs. Students that were returning from last year were recognized, and some even remembered their names! Carlos, one of the vendors at the market shared with me that his son had some serious surgery this last year and spoke of God's goodness to his family. He mentioned that if we have faith, God can and will provide. It was so encouraging to hear his words and be able to share Christ so openly in the market of all places! Many vendors gave out free trinkets to kids on the team as well. Carlos, Nellie, Eva, Jorge, etc..all are vendors there that I have the joy of seeing every year, and are quick to become godly friends of the students. After the market, we all spent some time in Café Barista where they have a wifi connection. Most everyone had dinner in their homes at 6:30 and then stayed at home the rest of the night. Some had homework, others goofed around a bit in their homes, and others just went to sleep early. We appreciate your prayers as the students are working on their conversational Spanish, communicating with their teachers, families, and in some homes even other language school students. In our home we have 2 Korean girls, who don't speak English and even have limited Spanish. Interesting to say the least. I guess we are all learning. Blessings from Antigua, Guatemala!
