So proud of this group as we are spending our devotional time on the church at Philippi and how Pauls missionary journeys are significant to us and what our purpose is here in Guatemala. We heard this afternoon about the pain and hurt that this community has had -and how we as a team, or two teams, can help. We talked in our worksites about our spiritual gifts in I Peter 4:10. God is at work in Magdalena, El Gorrion, Santo Tomás and Buena Vista wher our teams served today. I hope you have had a chance to see the many pictures the media team has put together so you can see the kids in action. They can be found on the SI Guatemala page. In addition, on the Guatemala 2014 page you will find more daily pics highlighting your kids.
We will have Coby and Christine Thomas with us one more day and they leave on Saturday for a funeral of a close family friend. We are so sad they need to leave, but were blessed to have them with us. So very blessed! We love you Coby and Christine and pray for your family as they attend the funeral. God has used this experience to not only bless us, but to be a blessing, our prayers go with you!
We will be leaving on Saturday morning to go to Lake Atitlán after all! We are so excited for the day of a short boat ride on the lake, a visit to a small village and shopping at the market in Panajachel! Tomorrow we will go to ministry sites and serve however God needs us most!
We hope to have our second team time tomorrow night, last night it was great to hear how God is at work in their worksite and what or how God spoke to them that day. All the students are a blessing, worship is led by Megan Birges and we will have our very own CVC group lead worship in the morning!!! Blessings to all of you back hone and thank you for your continued prayers!
