Laughter, Bromas, Spoken Spanish, Smiles and Selfies

Refreshing to see kids use their Spanish in ways they haven't before. It is so fun to see them through the window in the main room laughing and expressing themselves. I wish you could all see how language school just transpires..the kids just DO. There they sit at a two person table across from their teacher, and if they can't think of a word or a verb, they try to explain it in another way...all in Spanish. I am so proud of the things I'm seeing and hearing here....I know you would too. Your kids are awesome and I'm so happy you entrusted them these 3 weeks to be here with me and the SI staff.

This afternoon we are going to a coffee plantation after lunch with our families. In about a half hour the kids will get out of classes and head to their houses to rest a bit and eat lunch at either 12:30 or 1:00. At 1:45 we will meet back at school for the coffee plantation tour. After that, at around 4, we hope to head to the market again for a bit I think....and yes, we will all go together.

Yesterday we went to the market for the first time and I made sure we walked there together, and once we arrived, we split up in groups of 5 each (there are 15 now) and I was so proud of the kids all staying together! At least, for the most part. That really makes it easier on me....love them!

Tomorrow, we have a planned vist to an orphanage and a poor. Immunity a friend of mine is in charge of called La Pinada. If your student was with me last year, we went then as well, just not the orphanage Santiago. We brought a suitcase of shoes for them and plan to give them out tomorrow.

On Thursday, We are going to visit a village called San Pedro, where there is a non profit organization called Common Hope/Familias de Esperanza that provides education, health care and housing to impoverished people around the Antigua area. They have weekly organized visits here from Central Park in Antigua. Very excited for that!

Friday will be our last day of class and we will finish our lessons. Free time in the afternoon with a optional hike to the cross on the hill if it isn't raining.

Saturday we will be going to visit Lake Atitlán for the day with staff of Students International. Sunday church and a move to Magdalena, where we will be spending the next 2 weeks. The others arrive on Monday, June 9 and my oldest daughter Caitlin, goes home.

I am going to try to get another group picture in front of the school as today it isn't raining. :) we hope that lasts at least for the next week :)

Be blessed today, we certainly are and thank you for your prayers and support.
